As we are ingrained with concepts and traditions, our lives take very interesting paths. Growing up, we see injustice, greed, ignorance, and a plethora of negativity.

There came a point in my life when “push” almost came to “shove.” When this occurred, I went to Tom Thompson and The Awakened Heart Center to learn a peaceful and loving solution to acceptance. My mind’s concepts and thoughts were gradually erased. Soon there was peace instead of insanity.

We are all very blessed to have The Awakened Heart Center in our little town. Thank you, Tom and Bonnie Thompson! Without you, who knows where unacceptance would have left me chained?

I attend The Awakened Heart Center for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I’d like to report that the sessions work. I feel alive, liberated and happy. Once anyone listens to Tom’s talks they will soon realize that he has no hidden agenda other than for souls to awaken to the Absolute Truth of their being. Books, CDs, and videos are all traditional tools that are used in the search, but only a true teacher/guide will be able to point with clarity to that which is always ever Present in any moment. Tom, through his own multi-decade quest, has all the necessary credentials to carry out the role of a true Guru. For me, it took years of dedicated attendance at The Awakened Heart Center and a constant challenging of my own personal belief system before I would finally realize the essence of what Tom is pointing to.

How fortunate to have The Awakened Heart Center here in Southern Pines. How peaceful as you walk through the open white gate, take the simple path around the back, view the dancing colors of the flowers, perhaps hear the tinkle of a wind chime as it flows in the music of the wind.

If a friend pointed you to such unlimited beauty/bliss that was not only felt here at this place but was always with you, what could you possibly write in words to show such appreciation?

I have been a client of Tom Thompson of The Awakened Heart Center for ten years. During this period I have improved my quality of life dramatically. I now have self-confidence, a positive outlook on life, and the ability to overcome any roadblocks that might be in my way.

I have suffered from severe anxiety and it was so bad that I would have, on average, four or five attacks daily. The attacks would happen while I was at work, at home, or even at the mall. My attacks were so severe that it left me helpless and drained of all energy to enjoy my life.

During my training with Tom, I have learned so many techniques that I feel like I am way ahead in the “game of life.” One of the most powerful tools I have learned is hypnosis. During hypnosis I can become totally relaxed, gain self-confidence, and overcome any problems that I might have.

Another technique that I have learned is to use the positive energy that the human body has and allow it to work for me by putting me in a positive mind set. So many times people will fall into negative habits or began to think in a negative way, but all they are doing is getting in their own way. By allowing positive energy to work for you, your life will improve overnight. I am grateful for the work Tom has done for me. My overall quality of life is great. I have little stress in my life, I have self-confidence, and I feel great! The cottage on Ashe Street that provides the lovely space for the programs is inviting. As I walk through the white picket fence gate and down the stone path, I leave the harsh world behind. Full trees arch over the structure and the lovely gardens. Entering the back door entrance, the spiritual bookstore is on the right with comfortable chairs for browsing through an interesting book. After I pick up a pillow or two in the shoe room, I venture through the little kitchen , with the library to the left, and enter the spacious, clean meditation room where I am greeted by smiling faces of others who have come for the spiritual teachings.

Tom Thompson is a true blessing to our spiritual community. First, he is very wise. He has the verbal skills and motivation to share his truths clearly with us. He has a pleasant, humble demeanor which is found only in the truly spiritually powerful. His powerful energy pours out of him in his smiles, words and gestures. I believe he is the most nonjudgmental person I have ever met. I feel very safe and comfortable in his presence. He creates an environment of caring and generosity during group sessions that encourages great discussions and a very satisfying experience. — Rebecca Estes, M.D.
