In early 2004, I reached a point in my life that I now call “desperation.” I was in the middle of my midlife crisis, freshly divorced, separated from a career I loved, and completely without direction in my life. After many months of therapy my therapist recommended that I might benefit from the programs at The Awakened Heart Center. Reluctantly, I contacted Tom Thompson and began an adventure that would literally transform my life. I had always sought a “spiritual solution” to my life’s problems. I sought it through a variety of churches, “chemistry,” and self-help books. I was always left lacking something.

What I found at The Awakened Heart Center under Tom’s guidance was a method of discovering within myself through meditation all that I ever sought in my quest for spirituality. The teaching is thoughtful, simple, direct, and honest. Tom’s experience and his ability to convey his experience in simple ways has made the journey into my spirit easy, exciting, and above all more fulfilling than anything I had ever experienced before.

I also appreciate the atmosphere at The Awakened Heart Center. The absolute acceptance and compassion, no matter what your beliefs might be, has helped me to learn and become more tolerant of those whom I previously judged. What freedom I have found in knowing that we are all an expression of the same divine energy. My life has been enhanced in so many practical ways by practicing the love I have learned through my association with Tom Thompson and The Awakened Heart Center. — Brian P.

One of the darkest periods of my life seemed to be the months just before the darkness lifted. Through what seemed, at the time, to be sheer luck, I began an association with the good folks at The Awakened Heart Center for Conscious Living (“TAHC”). Gradually, through the techniques freely taught and shared by Tom, Bonnie and others associated with TAHC, the darkness turned into illumination. In retrospect, it seems like alchemy or magic.

Perhaps the next best thing about The Awakened Heart Center involves the fact that no one ever asked me to open my pocketbook “for Jesus” or anyone else. The folks at TAHC really trust the divine and never need to make others feel insecure to motivate financial contributions. That trust in the divine magic informs The Awakened Heart Center’s treatment of everyone who has anything to do with TAHC. — Marsh Smith

I was originally introduced to Tom Thompson of The Awakened Heart Center in 1995. At that time I was trying to deal with the death of my husband, and was told I was suffering from post-traumatic stress. I was convinced there was nothing to live for, and I was going through life not caring about anything or anyone, especially myself.

I met with Tom Thompson for many months and realized after approximately 7 months that he was truly helping me. He not only helped me cope with the loss and recover my life, heal, and grow, but he also allowed me to move forward and strengthen my belief in and connection with God.

After experiencing the healing that The Awakening Heart Center was able to provide, I chose to maintain my mental and spiritual health by attending regularly monthly sessions, which still take place today.

The Awakened Heart Center has been a definite positive force in my life, guiding me and allowing me to grow spiritually and mentally. Tom has assisted me in conquering my fears, has taught me how to see and take opportunities when presented, and has shown me how to believe in myself and in God and His will, allowing my life to take its course, being grateful for every lesson it provides along the way.

I believe that due to my willingness to learn I have grown as an individual and am truly happy with my life and all that surrounds me.

I have been blessed with meeting and marrying a wonderful man. I was able to leave the security of one job and accept the challenges of a new job and am loving it and feeling completely at peace with who I am and where I am in life.

I know that I have much more learning to experience. With Tom and The Awakened Heart Center’s help, I am confident that I will continue to improve my life, health, and well-being, and hopefully be able to share my lessons and positive experiences with others.
